Prodigal calling

It is amazing God and His timing. On Thursday morning just after my last posting on the Prodigal series I received a phone call. It was from a lady who had found the COI phone number in the phonebook and decided to call.
She has been dealing with addiction issues for over thirty years and was calling to find someone that could help. After a heartfelt talk we were able to meet with her yesterday. Myself and our youth pastors wife, Jerri, spent two hours ministering to this lady. She was so honest and she indicated she felt that she could safely share with us what was going on in her life and the extreme struggle with addiction.

She had so many questions for us, not only were we able to counsel with her but we were also able to answer many of her spiritual questions. She had made a decision for Christ three months ago but since that time had fallen deeper and deeper into despair and addiction. It was wonderful to share and pray with her. We will continue to meet with her and help to get her into a detox program and from there into a Christian recovery program.
