A new name written down

Praise God that another young lady made a decision to follow Christ.
On Wednesday afternoon I stood in front of our local soup kitchen a saw a 23 year old, young lady crying, she was very distraught. I was able to spend some time doing some basic counseling with her as she explained her situation.
We were able to take Marie out to buy some necessities on Wednesday. We reminded her that God cared about her and she shared that she has always hoped God would help her some day. We promised to meet her yesterday (Thursday) so she could buy some new shoes as the only shoes she had were making blisters on her feet. As we drove back down the hill Marie was finally feeling hungry so we joined the rest of the team for lunch at a local church. Marie was nervous about being around so many people but she did great.
After eating we had a quick meeting with one of the pastors from the church to see if we could get Marie some food vouchers so she could get much needed groceries. During this time of filling out the forms Marie was overwhelmed by all the wonderful things that had happened during the last 24 hours. She realized God was indeed helping her.
Just a few minutes later Marie cried out to God for His forgiveness. Her prayer of forgiveness was so wonderful to hear. It was in her own words and was from her heart. She was a new person.
We later found out from talking with her that she used to go to church and VBS as a child up until the age of 12. She had made some choices that caused her to turn away from God. Now she has made the choice to run into the arms of God.
Praise God for the way He orchestrated this initial meeting. She had not planned to be downtown and I had not planned to be there either. God had ordained it. God is so good!!!

I was there and saw this with my own two eyes. God is so awsome. It was so wonderful to see how he continuously unfolded his plan for Marie. One door opened after another and paths crossed only as a matter of his mighty hand. Marie is a wonderful loving person with so much to offer. I have been forever changed due to God working in my life during our Mission trip in Canada. Scott was a wonderful blessing to us and our youth group. Amazing is all I can say for him. I think of and pray for them often. Take care Marcie, Woodlawn Baptist Church, Hopewell, Virginia.
