Weekend in Syracuse
I know it has been a long time since I have written anything on my blog, so I thought I should send an update.
I spent this past weekend speaking at a missions weekend at a church in Syracuse, NY. It was nice to be able to share about what God has been teaching me through my missions experience.
I was able to share about the missions opportunities that exist within COI and hopefully find some people who would like to do a short term mission trip or serve as summer interns.
The best part for me personally was to be able to spend time with the Grant family. Don, the pastor of the church, and his wife Susan have been friends of ours for a number of years, in fact Don gave Ruth and I our first opportunity to be involved in ministry back in the early 90's.
I was reminded this weekend of how much of an impact hurricane Katrina has had on my life. As I was sharing some of the wonderful lessons I had learned and sharing the stories of some of those we were able to help, my heart was moved again with compassion for the people of the gulf coast. I looked at some of the pictures I had taken during my time in the gulf and I was reminded again to keep the stories and images of the gulf alive in others.
Tonight I head home on a 12 hour bus ride, not too excited about that. I am presently working at Youth For Christ in Montreal, doing some catch up stuff. It has been good to be able to do some planning for the summer trips in Montreal.
Blessings to all...

Good to read some news on your blog. I was wondering what was going on with Scott? It is good that you had that time in New York. Will keep you and your family in our prayers.
